Sophie Meinhardt Fund of the Greater Cincinnati Foundation
	February 26, 2005 – August 21, 2006
	The Sophie Meinhardt Fund was founded in memory of our angel, Sophia Grace Meinhardt. Sophie was an energetic little girl who brought a smile to everyone’s face. In her honor, The Sophie Meinhardt Fund was established to help change the outcome of children diagnosed with brain tumors through pediatric research and to keep her memory alive through an educational scholarship fund.
	Our Mission
	Sophie’s diagnosis and death were a tragedy. However, Sophie’s 18-months of life on earth were not. Anyone that knew Sophie knew she was full of life.  Sophie never stopped moving during her 18 months on earth. Our family became determined to do whatever we could to prevent other families from suffering from this devastating diagnosis and disease and to celebrate her life. So we hold a memorial 5K Run/Walk in Sophie’s honor called Sophie’s Angel Run. The goals of this event are:     •    To raise awareness of lack of funding for Pediatric Brain Tumor Research       •    Raise money for Pediatric Brain Tumor Research       •    Keep Sophie’s Memory alive through educational scholarships at St. Jude School       •    Help her family and immediate community through the grieving proces
	Our Philosophy
	To become BETTER rather than bitter from Sophie’s death and to help change the outcome of children diagnosed with brain tumors.
	Fund Accomplishments
	•    Over $40,000 was donated to Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center for Pediatric Brain Tumor Research            in February of 2008     •    Established The Sophie Meinhardt Fund of the Greater Cincinnati Foundation in 2007     •    Awarded four $500 educational scholarships in Sophie’s name to current 7th grade students at St. Jude School            in Bridgetown for the 2008-2009 school year
